opening title sequence inspired by a documentary and news article

news article - Florence St George: "it looked like I was living the dream but I was in a dark place"

the sequence would open with a blacked out picture with cloud cheering noises. the black screen would then fade out to a shot of an actress from behind on a red carpet surrounded by paparazzi and interviewers with microphones at the sides. the first shot of the woman would start at a low angle from behind her and the camera would slowly go up higher until it is just a close up shot of the back of her head. the camera would then switch to a id shot of her on the red carpet posing for the cameras. she would have a subtle smile on her face and things such as the camera clicks would be pleonastic and the flashes on the camera would be edited so they looked over exaggerated to get the point across to the audience the fact that having a glamorous like can also be overwhelming. the voices of the paparazzi and interviewers would also be slightly muffled and the would be out of focus at points to draw more attention to the actress. you would then have a mid long following shot of the actress walking down the carpet and away from the venue with her personal security guard to the car. the car would be something fancy like a Mercedes or a limbo to show the audience her wealth. you would have a shot of the actress from outside the car window looking in or her showing her wave and smile to the cameras which would then move to a close up shot of her inside the car as they drive away looking sad and the smile disappearing from her face to a bored numb look. you would then have a long shot of her getting out of her car and saying thank you to her driver who then drives away. she would enter her house which would be big and glamorous. you would have things such as posters of awards on the walls to establish her fame and importance. however once the actress gets home you would start to see the reality of her life. there would be a shot of her walking up the stairs and a shot from inside her room of her turning the lights on and ass the lights turn on she is seen framed in the doorway. as the lights come on the audience would see her room is a mess. there would be clothes everywhere and only mugs and food bowls on all the surfaces. there would be a backing track to this scene of sad slow music. there would then be a shot of her going into a cupboard which contained things such as wine and drug looking substances. she would then get out a bottle of red wine and sit on her bed and start drinking it from the bottle. she would then look at her phone and see the recently uploaded photos of her on the red carpet she would immediately see bad comments and you would get a side close up of her face showing her bad reaction. she would then through her phone down on the bed and get up to go the the bathroom. she would stand in front of the sink with a shot of her looking in the bathroom mirror with a look of anger and sadness. she would then open the cupboard above the sink and a shot of prescription pills in the cupboard would be shown. she would then get the pills and empty 2 into her hands. she would swallow them without water and then there would be a final close up shot of her looking at herself in the mirror. there would be a crescendo of music at this point and then the scene would go to a sudden blackout.

documentary - a secret love (Netflix)

this is set in late 1960s england. the sequence would fade in to a field with blaring sunlight going towards the camera so the image was overexposed. there would be two girls in the field running around and sounds of laughter would be heard in the background. there would also be a voice over in the background of an older woman who would be one of the girls grown up explaining the first part of the story. there would be follow shots of the two girls and there would be cross cutting between them until there would be an eye line match between them which would be the cutting point for the first scene. the scene would then immediately cut to a long shot of a house in a slightly run down area with a train going past in the distance. it would then cut to the inside of the house and one of the girls sitting on the sofa watching tv in a mid long shot with her dad sleeping snoring next to her. her and her mum look at each other and start laughing at the sound of her dads loud snores. there would then be a close up shot of the tv at the news starts playing and the stone wall riots are the coverage. the mum would be cutting up food and there would be a close up shot of her looking to the tv abruptly in a reaction shot for the audience. the camera would then switch to a long shot of her body coming from the tv and he walking over abruptly with a stern look on her face. she would grab the controller from the table infant of the tv and switch it off. the tv light projecting onto the girl would turn off as she complains to her mum. there would then be a mid shot of the dad on the sofa waking up as his daughters complaining startles him in his sleep and wakes him up. he is asking what happened confused at the comotion and the mum explains how she doesn't want the girl watching that stuff of the tv. she complains more saying she was finding it interesting and wanted to watch it and reaches for the controller back. her mum slaps her hand away hard an shouts "you don't want to watch those kind of people on the tv its not good for you'. the sound of her mothers voice and her dads confusing asking what's happened fade away as the camera zooms into her face for a reaction shot for the audience showing them she feels confused and hurt by her mothers actions.
